November 2019 – CropIn has been announced as the winner of the ET Champion of Sustainable Solutions 2019 Award for its consistent efforts in working towards the SDGs prescribed by the United Nations, this December. CropIn was one of the AgTech companies nominated at the ET SDG Impact Summit, held at Taj Palace, New Delhi in November.
CropIn has been working on initiatives supporting 14 out of 17 SDGs using its technological solutions. Some of these are –
- Good Health and Well Being – To ensure healthy living and promote well-being for all at all ages, CropIn makes certain that food production remains traceable through its supply chain, to identify and mitigate food-related health risks at the earliest possible moment. CropIn works on this SDG through the Tata CInI Project.
- Zero Hunger and Equal Opportunity – To double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers, in particular, women and to fight child labour. CropIn is associated with this SDG through the Vodafone Foundation’s CSR Initiative Project.
- Climate Action – Promote mechanisms for raising capacity for effective climate change-related planning and management in under-developed and developing countries. CropIn is associated with the SLAAC World Bank Project to achieve this SDG.
- Gender Equality – Enhance the use of enabling information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women. CropIn is working on this in the ‘Jeevika’ Project.
The Sustainable Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all the member nations of the UN in 2015 as a universal call-to-action to end poverty, provide equality and prosperity in all forms and to ensure the planet is protected for a better future.
