Rajesh Jalan is the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering at Cropin, an Agtech pioneer that has developed Cropin Cloud, the world's first industry cloud for agriculture. He has over 25 years of experience building and leading software products and services engineering teams that are globally scaled, always available, and trusted. An inventor and innovator at heart, over the course of his career, Rajesh has been awarded 10 patents in various areas including code analysis, code optimization and operating systems.
At Cropin, Rajesh oversees the continued evolution of the company’s suite of SaaS-based agri solutions and building the world’s first Intelligent Agriculture Cloud platform.
Prior to joining Cropin, Rajesh held multiple senior roles at Microsoft over a span of 18 years. His most recent role was Head of Engineering for Azure Blockchain, where he led the blockchain engineering team across Redmond, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and built up the team in India from scratch to a Center of Excellence (CoE). Previously he was Head of Engineering for Azure Farmbeats, the first industry specific agriculture platform in Azure. Before Microsoft, Rajesh had stints at Synopsys, Tejas Networks and Cadence Design Systems.
Rajesh graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Mathematics. Rajesh lives in Hyderabad, India and enjoys walking and reading on Behavioral Economics and Psychology in his spare time.
